Young entrepreneurs were issued the challenge of pursuing their business ideas and implored to use the motivation of being their own boss as the launch pad to ascertain that they achieve their dreams.
The challenge was issued by the Chief Financial Officer of eBizz Business Solutions, the umbrella company for SKNVibes.com, Mr. Stachio Williams, while giving the featured remarks during the recent closing ceremony for the Savings and Investment Course, at the Ocean Terrace Inn.
The course was a collaborative effort between the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) and the University of the West Indies (UWI), and 29 persons were presented with certificates for completing the 12 weeks course. The main objective of the course was to highlight money management and providing invaluable tips on making positive investments.
Mr. Williams, a young entrepreneur himself, noted that there are various factors that make investing difficult but quickly added that perseverance is a necessity in order to bypass such obstacles. ~~Adz:Right~~
Among the challenges he identified were the access to resources, including capital, access to training, natural and unfair competition and lack of opportunities to grow.
“There are specific challenges that hamper the rapid development of entrepreneurial skills and business ideas, and there are also the personal risks that coming with establishing your own business but success will eventually come once there is hard work and unwavering dedication,” Williams stated.
He spoke of his trying experiences with the establishment of eBizz and admitted that the only reason why the other stakeholders and himself were able to survive was because they were risk takers and were undaunted by the obstacles.
“You have to adequate research, draw from the experiences of others, establish partnerships with those you can trust and find a niche,” he charged the aspiring entrepreneurs.
“My business partners and I experienced turbulent times- seasons of drought and uncertainty- but because we maintained our focus, I can say that business is progressing steadily,” he said in conclusion.
His encouraging words were rather timely as the inspiration helped to boost the confidence of the graduates.
Mr. Williams and his partners established eBizz Business Solutions five years ago and they have steadfastly grown over the years.
