On Tuesday 14th August 2007 at the Sandy Point Magistrate Court, the following persons were convicted of various offences;
· Nicole Pederaux of Stone Fort who was charged with the offence of ”Careless Driving” was convicted and fined $500.00 to be paid in one (1) month or in default to serve one (1) month imprisonment.
· Michael Wigley of Godwin Ghaut who was charged with the offences of ”Battery on a Police Officer” and ”Resisting Arrest” was convicted and sentenced to serve two (2) months imprisonment and cautioned respectively.
· Crispin Jenkins of Tabernacle who was charged with the offences of ”Nuisance” and ”Indecent Exposure” was convicted, cautioned and sentenced to serve two (2) months imprisonment with hard labour respectively.
Also at the Sandy Point Magistrate Court, Darren Gibson of Tabernacle Village who was charged with the offence of “Wounding with Intent” committed on 15th April 2004 at Tabernacle, was committed to stand trial at the September 2007 Criminal Assizes.
The following persons were arrested and charged between 13th and 14th August 2007; ~~Adz:Right~~
· A (16) sixteen-year-old male of Saddlers Village was charged with the offence of “Driving without Insurance” committed on 6th August 2007 at Brighton Estate.
· A (16) sixteen-year-old male of Newtown was charged with the offence of “House Breaking and Larceny” committed on 12th July 2007 at Frigate Bay.
· Joseph Charles of Waterworks, Cayon was charged with the offence of “Carrying Abroad an Offensive Weapon” committed on 14th August 2007 at Hermitage Road, Cayon.
At the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday 13th August 2007, Tosh Boston of Newtown was convicted of the offence of “Larceny” committed on 25th April 2007 at Newtown. He was subsequently sentenced to serve three (3) months imprisonment with hard labour.
