BASSETERRE, St Kitts, 8th July 2011 - Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), Sir K Dwight Venner will present the report on Monetary and Credit Conditions in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) at the 70th Meeting of the ECCB Monetary Council, which convenes in Montserrat on 15 July.
The Monetary Council is the highest decision making authority of the ECCB. It comprises the eight Ministers for Finance from the ECCB member countries.
During the meeting, Council Members will receive and deliberate on several other reports including: Policy Implications of Rising Food and Oil Prices; the Publication of Member Governments’ Fiscal Targets; and the National Consultations on the Recommendations of the Pension Review Commission.
Following the meeting, the Incoming Chairman, the Honourable Reuben T Meade, Council Member for Montserrat, will present the communiqué and along with the other Members of the Council, will field questions from media representatives in Montserrat.
