The St Kitts Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) commemorates the tenth anniversary of the establishment of its Regular Corps with a number of activities planned for the week of 26 August to 01 September 2007.
The activities commenced with a church service at the Zion Moravian Church in Basseterre on Sunday 26 August 2007, where all available members of the Regular Corps supported by members of the Volunteer Reserve Corps, Band and Cadet Corps gathered to worship.
Over the past ten years the SKNDF has confronted and overcome many challenges and shortcoming, through the determination and dedication of its members. The organization has thrived and continues to make progress in its development. The Force has contributed tremendously to the maintenance of security, law and order in the Federation.
Lt Col. Patrick E. Wallace, Commander, SKNDF commended the men and women of the Force for their dedication, steadfastness and hard work, and admonished them to continue to discharge their duties with fervour of purpose and professionalism.
The week of activities continues with many interesting events such as drill competition, community projects and an open day, and will conclude with a 10km battle match on Saturday 01 September.
