BASSETERRE, St. Kitts THE melodious sounds of the saxophone graced the atmosphere while the chimes of the keyboard were mellow and added charm to the musical entertainment that flowed through the store of Rituals Coffee House, Fort Street last evening (July 11).

Specially invited guests and Government officials chit-chatted with wine glasses in hand, while sampling a few of the delectable pastries that will be available following the opening of the long awaited Basseterre location.
This private ceremony marked the official opening of the Rituals Coffee House on Fort Street.

Government officials present were the Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas, Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Sam Condor and Minister of Tourism, Hon. Richard ‘Ricky’ Skerritt while other special guests included Rituals Country Manager for St. Lucia, Nadia Polius and Rituals Country Manager for Trinidad and Tobago, Sharlene Ortega-Louis.

Chairman of Rituals, Mario Sabga-Aboud took the guests on a trip down memory lane when he told the story of how he started out in the business arena and eventually emerged to be the owner of quite a large number of businesses in the food industry.

He spoke of his love for the beauty and the people of St. Kitts and the potential that the island has, the reason for which he decided to ‘set up shop’ here.

He said that in any business, customer service is a very important asset and that is why he makes certain that his staff is fully trained in that field, so customers can rest assured that upon entrance into Rituals, they will receive the best customer service.

St. Kitts is the smallest of the nine countries in which Rituals is located. The Fort Street Store marks the 75th store owned by Sabga-Aboud to be opened. It also marks the fourth to be opened in St. Kitts.

Rituals first started operating in St. Kitts in January 2010 at the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine campus. Shortly after, another branch was unveiled in the Frigate Bay area, followed by Pizza Boys, and now Rituals, Fort Street.

Apart from Rituals, some of Sabga-Aboud’s other eateries include Pizza Boys, Donut Boys, Imperial Garden, Churches Chicken, and Wok & Roll, all of which are located in different islands throughout the Caribbean.

The plans for Sabga-Aboud do not end there! He revealed to his guests his plans for a Sushi and Wine Bar as well as a Churches Chicken to be introduced in St. Kitts in the near future.
Rituals, Fort Street begins business today (July 12).
