Premier O'Neal Pleased Francis Lettsome School 95% Finished

    ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, July 12th, 2011 - Premier and Minister of Finance Honourable Ralph T. O’Neal, OBE told the Department of Information and Public Relations he is pleased that the Francis Lettsome Primary School in Greenland is 95 percent completed and looks forward to seeing the finished product on July 31, 2011.

     

    Premier O’Neal said, “I am very pleased that this project came to fruition because replacing the old staff and classroom block was necessary for improving the infrastructure,” adding, “I am delighted that the building would very soon be completed so that users can enjoy the modern amenities that the facility has to offer.”

     

    remier O’Neal on behalf of the Government of the Virgin Islands signed a contract on February 26, 2010 with Neville Smith of International Construction Ltd. in the amount of $2,981,481.84. The project started on March 22, 2010.

     

    According to Project Coordinator with the Ministry of Finance’s Project Support Services Unit (PSSU) Mr. Duane Fraites, the scope of the work includes the completion of a new administration block, entrance gazebo and external works. The building also includes six classrooms, a staff room, a library, bathrooms, and a computer resource/media centre.

     

    he completion of the Francis Lettsome Primary School is in keeping with government’s commitment to improve, enhance and strengthen infrastructures throughout the Territory.
