Miss St. Kitts Abigail Liburd
By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Abigail Liburd, who placed First Runner-up in the National Carnival Queen Pageant last year, will be representing St. Kitts on July 23 and 25 in the Miss Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant being staged in two parts.

Liburd will compete amongst contestants from 10 other Caribbean countries. They are: Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia, Dominica, Nevis, Montserrat, Barbados, Jamaica, Guyana, Anguilla and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The first part of the show will be held in the form of a Swimsuit Competition in St. Kitts at Carnival Village, where they will make two swimsuit appearances and a Promotional Speech appearance in Ambassadorial Wear.

On July 25 the Pageant goes back to its original home, Nevis, where the contestants will compete in the more intense part of the show, displaying their Talent and Evening Wear and participating in an Interview.

SKNVibes contacted Liburd to find out how she feels about representing her country and also about her preparation.  However, Liburd told this media house she was not allowed to comment without the consent of her chaperon.

Her Chaperon, Samantha Boon, then contacted SKNVibes and stated that she did not wish Liburd to comment and this was due to personal reasons.

Lanein Blanchette represented St. Kitts last year and placed Second Runner-up. The pageant is part of the 2011 Nevis Culturama Celebrations.
