Jamaica Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller said her PNP party is not conceding defeat to the Jamaica labour Party (JLP) led by Bruce Golding after preliminary result showed that the JLP party narrowly defeating the PNP party by 31 seats to 29. in yesterday’s election.
Ms Simpson Miller said there were a number of seats that the PNP would be taking to court on constitutional issues. She also allege that some of the JLP candidates have dual citizenship and had sworn allegiance to foreign powers making them ineligible to hold seats in Parliament.
She also said that in some constituencies persons were barred from voting and in other constituencies campaigning continued up to the day before elections which is not allowed.
Bruce Golding the Prime Minister in waiting if the results stand, in his victory speech, said "however perplexing some may find the results, the fact is that the people have spoken".
