    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS (AUGUST 10TH 2004) – Resurfacing of the main road leading from Basseterre to St. Peter’s, construction of a new Pre-School and reservoirs are among issues to be discussed Wednesday night at a Town Hall Meeting in St. Peter’s.
     
    Two-term Parliamentary Representative, the Hon. Cedric Liburd, will meet with residents of New Road, Lower Monkey Hill, Upper Monkey Hill, Stapleton, Parry’s, Gundo Field and Douglas Estate at 7:30 P.M. at the St. Peter’s Community Center.
     
    The continued commercial development of St. Peter’s and its environs and land for housing and small farmers will also be discussed.
     
    Minister Liburd, who holds the portfolio of Agriculture, Fisheries, Cooperatives, Lands and Housing, will also discuss the recent agreement for the establishment of a US$90 million project for the cultivation and commercialisation of Stevia in the Ogees area by NaturalSweet Corporation of Canada.
     
    Similar Town Hall Meetings have been held in Sandy Point, Challengers and Mansion.
     
    Government ministers over the past years have been consulting with residents through various fora including one-on-one consultations at their respective Constituency Offices, Town Hall Meetings, Constituency Meetings and the annual “Face to Face.”
