Potential Bar and Snackette under siege

By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – As of last Friday (July 8) one of the hottest hang out spots in Basseterre, Potential Bar and Snackette, has been closed, as police officials had placed a lock on the venue due to problems with the owners.

According to an officer, the owner Terrance ‘Paco’ Thompson was issued several letters by the owner of the property, which houses his business, after he had not made some payments after a long period.

The officer went on to state that they were ordered to place a lock on the property until Thompson settles his debt but he is uncertain what will happen after.

Rumours indicated that Thompson had been arrested after trying to leave the island but the officer told this media house that was untrue and he was never arrested.

SKNVibes contacted Thompson to comment on the issue and was told by him that he has no problem making a statement but was not ready to do so at that point.

The owner of the popular spot said there is much to the situation that the police do not know. However, he noted that as soon as he gets the issue rectified he would make a statement.

Potential Bar and Snackette is located on Cayon Street opposite the Police Station and is a popular after work ‘liming spot’ on Fridays.
