    Adopt-A-Cause Project comes to Fruition

Charlestown, Nevis, July 19th, 2011 – Children at the Inez-Franz Pre School now have improved facilities for their outdoor play area.

The project began several months ago, on Saturday October 16, 2010 with the teachers of the Inez France Pre-School, fathers of the St. Thomas’ Community and the volunteers from CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank beginning work towards building the play set.

At the end of the project, which was conducted over several weekends, the school was fitted with a state-of-the-art play set equipped with monkey bars, swings, benches and a vast deck, where classes may be conducted.

Sponsorship of this project became possible through the CIBC FirstCaribbean’s Adopt-A-Cause Programme which helps and supports worthy community activities. The programme brings public attention to some very worthy causes in the community, and seeks to draw the CIBC FirstCaribbean staff closer, as they work together on a cause of their choosing.

Most significantly though, through projects like this, the bank becomes an integral partner of the community, and through the investment in people, gains lifelong friends.

The volunteers from the bank who worked on the project thanked the dedicated parents of students attending the pre-school, the Nevis Housing and Land Development Corporation and S L Horsfords and Company Ltd for joining with them to make a contribution towards making the project a reality.

    G. Peter Edmunds, Country Manager, thanked the volunteers for sticking so faithfully with the project, and noted that CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank is keenly aware of its corporate social responsibility towards the communities which it serves, and added that the bank is committed to partnering in similar projects with communities in the 17 countries in which it operates.
