    BASSETERRE St.Kitts, July 20th, 2011 - Team St. Kitts and Nevis are currently participating in the 23rd Biannual Caribbean and Central American Championships in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.

     

    Last evening, our men were successful in capturing the bronze medal and setting a new National Record in the 4X100m which is also an automatic qualifier for the World Championship in Daegu, South Korea in late August. Their time is currently within the top (16) sixteen quota for the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England.

     

    The quartet comprised of Jason Rogers, Kim Collins, Antoine Adams and Brijesh Lawrence who appeared in the very same order. Delwayne Delaney was also very resourceful in aiding the team on the third leg in the preliminaries resulting in their advancement to the finals. 

     

    Tanika Liburd will be competing in the long jump later this evening, while Brijesh Lawrence who has already qualified for the World Championships and Olympics will be running out of lane 6 this evening for the men’s 200m final.
