    – St. Kitts and Nevis is to host the Venue Summit III of Cricket World Cup 2007 and a Board Meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup 2007 Inc. next month.

This was disclosed Wednesday afternoon by Chairman of World Cup St. Kitts & Nevis, Mr. Charles Wilkin, who said some 60 top cricket officials will visit St. Kitts for the two meetings.

He said representatives of the 8 Caribbean countries selected to host matches in the World Cup will meet on September 29th to discuss operational maters and preparations for the World Cup with officials of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 Inc., the subsidiary of the West Indies Cricket Board, which is organising the event.

Mr. Wilkin said the Summit will be followed by a Board Meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup 2007 Inc. on September 30th.

“Venue Summit III is the first summit to be held since the selection of venues for the World Cup. Previous summits in St. Lucia and Barbados dealt with the bidding process for the selection of venues,” said Mr. Wilkin.

“This is an indication of the high esteem in which our Country is held as a new international cricket venue,” said Wilkin of the Local Organising Committee for the World Cup.

The Cricket World Cup is the third largest sporting event in the world.
