By: Jenise Ferlance, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE St. Kitts – Donations, donations and more donations! This recession is sure not stopping these big businesses from giving back to the community and sponsoring major events.

Businesses are showing a strong level of support and are digging deeper ties to the communities with their cash donations as well as tangible contributions.

Find out more as SKNVibes presents another edition of Business Update.

DIGICEL – The bigger, better network contributed a lot to major events over the past few weeks and this week was no different. On Tuesday (July 19), Digicel handed over an EC$10 000 cheque to the St. Kitts Football Association as their contribution to the CFU Olympic Men’s Qualifying Tournament that kicked off last evening (July 21).

Digicel’s customers now have the luxury of paying only 45 cents per minute on any local call after talking on their phone for just three minutes with their 3:45 promotion. Customers can talk Digicel to Digicel, Digicel to landline and even Digicel to any other local mobile network, just talk for three minutes and pay only 45 cents per minute after.

CIBC FIRSTCARIBBEAN BANK - Children at the Inez-Franz Pre School now have improved facilities for their outdoor play area thanks to the CIBC FirstCaribbean Bank. A project that started months ago finally came to an end with a state-of-the-art play set equipped with monkey bars, swings, benches and a vast deck, where classes may be conducted.

HOBSON ENTERPRISES – Hobson Enterprises has shown their support to the Miss Caribbean Culture Pageant with a recent cash donation to the Planner and Adviser of the organising committee.

CTDF - The Concerned Taxi Drivers Foundation (CTDF) in collaboration with the University of Central Florida (UCF) made two generous donations of linens to both the Cardin Home and the JNF General Hospital on Wednesday (July 20).

KVK ENTERPRISES - KVK Enterprises' Summer Camp 'Dare 2 Be Different' started on Monday (July 18) and it will run throughout the entire summer with courses on Computer, Art, Reading Readiness, and Craft. Ongoing registration is available.

Parents/Guardians can also get their children's school bags embroidered with the child/children's name for just EC$20.
