~~Adz:Left~~ Charlestown Nevis--A Canadian based firm, Technology To The Extreme (Tekstreme), currently setting up physical offices Upstairs Rams Complex, will soon offer wireless internet, wireless security system and digital TV.

The firm’s digital TV services will enable consumers to access 300 channels.

According to the firm’s Nevis President, Scott Douglas, consumers will enjoy a “much better” service.  He said the quality of the TV channels would be similar to that of DVDs.  Wireless Internet will be launched in December 2007 and digital TV in January 2008.

Douglas, a Canadian citizen whose parents are Nevisians conceived the idea of launching Tekstreme in Nevis five years ago but had to wait to acquire the telecommunication license.  The establishment of Tekstreme in Nevis is as a result of teamwork by local and international investors.

“We will not only compete but dominate.  The price will be reasonable and we will be efficient.  It will be a dedicated service,” Douglas said.  The technology Tekstreme plans to offer will require zero maintenance even during hurricane season; he said.  The current installation, Douglas further explained, is projected to serve Nevis for the next twenty years.

Scott Douglas studied in Charlestown Secondary School (CSS) from form two to Form six.  When asked why he had relocated his business to Nevis, he said, “When you work in places like Canada, you work many hours.  The tax is too much.  You can do very well financially but I can only see my wife and children on the weekends.  I have to work 60 hours per week.” He said Nevis offered a relaxed working environment.

According to Douglas, Tektreme will initially offer six employment opportunities.  Gradually, the number of employees will increase.
