Prentice Sentenced to 3 Years

(Basseterre; St. Kitts): His Lordship Francis Belle sentenced Brian Prentice to three years in prison after he pled guilty to three counts of False Pretences.
Prentice pled guilty to unlawfully obtaining money from Zola Richardson-Finch under the pretences that she will be employed at Global Financial Management.
On three separate occasions he had received a total of EC$13,500.00.
Prentice contacted the complainant under the name of a “Mr. Ross” and told her she would have to pay all the monies he request and sign a contract.
His Lawyer Vincent Warner said that his client was feeling remorseful and would like to apologize to the victim for what he has done.
Warner said that Prentice is concerned about his grandmother whom he had been living with at the time of his incarceration and that he has three children he would like to spend time with.
~~Adz:Right~~ Warner also asked the court to imply a fine and not a custodial sentence as his client’s punishment.
“It seems as though you have some skills but are using them for the wrong purposes,” His Lordship told Prentice. “I don’t know how you manage to get someone to pay you money for employment.”
He continued: “If you had stop after one incident then the court would have considered that but you kept on trying and I believe you need sometime in prison to think about what you did. I will sentence you to three years in prison!”
