Press Release

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, July 26th, 2011 – LIAT wishes to advise that flights LI 787 and LI 372 will operate into Grenada this evening as scheduled.

Due to industrial action taken by the Company’s employees at the Maurice Bishop International Airport (MBIA), LIAT was forced to cancel flights to and from Grenada earlier today.

LIAT has made the following changes to its flight schedule for Wednesday July 27:

    • LI 754 will operate from Trinidad non-stop to Barbados

    • LI 303 will be re-timed to depart Barbados at 7:00am and will operate its normal routing – Barbados-Grenada-Trinidad.

    • LI 304 will be re-timed to depart Trinidad at 9:25am and will operate non-stop to Barbados

Customers affected by the disruptions who wish to rebook for a later date will be allowed to do so without charge for a period of one week from the date of their scheduled travel. Following the one-week grace period, passengers will be required to pay applicable fare and change fees when re-booking.

LIAT’s management is seeking to work with the Technical and Allied Workers Union which represent the workers, its employees in Grenada and the Grenada Government to bring a speedy resolution to this matter.

LIAT sincerely apologises to affected passengers for any inconvenience caused as a result of the action by its Grenada employees.

A further advisory will be issued at approximately 9:30am on Wednesday July 27 in respect to any further changes to the Company’s flight schedule.
