BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AFTER a brief hiatus to make way for the CFU U-23 Group D Olympic Qualifier Tournament, the Nagico Insurance East Basseterre Football League resumed last evening (July 26) with the New Round and the Round d Field teams taking to the field.

The game – which resulted in defeat for New Round - was held at the Newtown Football Field.

Round d Field defeated New Round 4-1 with three goals from Ian ‘Rumpy’ Lake and one from Ziko Condor, while Joshua Liburd his team’s lone goal.

The second of the double-header matches for that evening featured Lock It and South Side, with the game resulting in a draw, 2-all.

Kevin ‘Infamous’ Benjamin twice found the back of the nets for Lock It while Marlo Martin and Imron Ponteen scored one goal each for the South Side team.

The league commenced in early July, and on July 8 Fluffy defeated Ghetto Ballers 4-3 while BWFC netted the five times against Shottaz’s four.

Scorers for BWFC were Dagal Kelly (3) and Lance Lewis (2). Those who scored for Shottaz were Timothy Francis, Jason Javis, Daniel John and Wayne Phillip.

The action continues this evening (July 27) with a 6:00 pm match between BWFC and Ghetto Ballers, which will be followed by an 8:00 p.m. match between Shottaz and Pasture Roots.

Lock It and Shottaz would do battle tomorrow, and that match will be followed by a one between Round d Field and Fluffy.
