Press Release

London, July 27th, 2011: The New National Party’s caretaker for the Town of St George Mr. Nickolas Steele who is accompanying former Prime Minister and Leader of Her Majesty's Loyal opposition Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell on his overseas tour to major cities in London and North America, made his debut speech to a massive gathering of Grenadians, potential investors and well wishers in London on July 23rd.

Mr. Steele, a local businessman told the gathering that his decision to enter into front line politics was as a result of the lack of initiative on the part of Government, to create the enabling environment for investors to take risk.

He said something has to be done and done quickly to correct this negative perception that Grenada is not investor friendly, and to protect those businesses whose performance has been negatively affected by the decisions taken by our Government.

The decision to join the NNP he said, was an easy one to make.  After carefully looking at the political parties on the island, the NNP is the only one that can boast of a true leader, that has a plan to move the economy forward and a team of united, committed and dedicated professionals who have demonstrated a passion and love for the country and its people.  “I feel honoured to be apart of this team.” He added.

Mr. Steele will continue accompanying Dr. Mitchell to meetings in both New York and Washington DC before returning to Grenada in August.
