    ~~Adz:Right~~ Basseterre; St. Kitts:
Ourtic Gillard, a young man wanted by the Police for a number of robberies and break-ins, is finally in their custody, after a combined effort by the Defence Force and the Police was successful in apprehending him.

Gillard was apprehended on Thursday morning, October 11th, after a short pursuit. During the pursuit, he was shot by an officer.

According to Police reports, Police officers and officers of the Defence Force responded to information they received from an anonymous source.

Upon reaching the identified area, and after carrying out surveillance on motor car PA2808, which was reported stolen on Wednesday, October 10th, the lawmen realized a young man approached the vehicle and made an attempt to enter.

The young man tried to flee when he realized the officers were on to him. The officers quickly gave chase and were able to subdue him, after the suspect was shot.

Interestingly, Gillard fit the description of an armed perp from an earlier reported robbery.

A search of the motor vehicle PA2808 produced two rounds of 9mm ammunition.

A number of charges are expected to be laid against Gillard shortly.
