    HOPE Seminar A Major Success

    ~~Adz:Left~~ Charlestown, Nevis: Twenty-six employees drawn from government departments and the private sector participated at last week’s HOPE seminar titled “Raising Standards Within The Workplace.”
     
    Adviser, Ministry of Social Development, Halsted Byron, who officially opened the seminar commended HOPE for its enthusiasm in responding to the needs of young people. Byron encouraged HOPE members to continue in their noble pursuits.
     
    According to HOPE’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Ron Daniel, institutions, government departments and companies that sent participants included: Nevlec, Lefco, Oualie Beach Resort, Hamoron Services, Dean and Associates, Nevis Housing and Land Development, Romany law firm, Myrna Walwyn Chambers, Solid Waste Management Authority, TDC, Nevis Island Administration (NIA) and First Fidelity Trust
     
    Seminar facilitators included Elmeader Brookes who trained on The Importance of Time Management in the Workplace.  Sonita Daniel trained on The Importance of Teamwork in the Workplace. Patricia Reid-Waugh trained on Professionalism and Proper Work Ethics in the Workplace and Delivering Quality Customer Service in the Workplace’s training session was facilitated by Grell Browne.
     
    The seminar is the first of its kind that HOPE has coordinated.  The Minister for Social Development, Hon. Hensley Daniel, issued participants with certificates. 
     
    The cost of the seminar was EC$150 per participant.  The money raised will go towards the payment of hot meals for two deserving children. One will be recruited in Gingerland Secondary School (GSS) and  the other from Charlestown Secondary School (CSS).
