BASSETERRE St.Kitts,1st August 2011 - The St.Kitts-Nevis Table Tennis Association (SKNTTA) Grassroots Table Tennis Camp offers aspiring junior players (age 7 to 15 years old) a chance to live, eat and breathe table tennis for a week including 18 hours of tennis for 6 days, fun filled activities, and supervision by certified coaches.
The SKNTTA Grassroots Table Tennis Camp will be conducted with the support and guidance of an
international table tennis coach Georg Silberschmidt from Switzerland at the Anglican Church Hall
(opposite Warner Park), Basseterre, and St Kitts and Nevis.
The daily schedule for the grassroots camp will be from 9.30am to 12.30pm; Monday 8th August 2011
to Saturday 13th August 2011.Cost is $50.00 per person for the week and includes refreshment,
certificate of attendance and 18 hours of Table Tennis fundamentals.
Table Tennis Fundamentals:
? Intro to TT; Grip; Stance; Forehand drive
? Table tennis equipment; Backhand drive
? Footwork; Beginning serves
? Pushing; Advanced serves
? FH loop vs. backspin; Blocking
? BH attack (looping & hitting vs. backspin)
? Smashing; Return of Serve
The SKNTTA is driven by the mandate to become a vehicle for youth development through sports in
the Federation. As such, we accept the task to create roadmaps to steer the youth away from a life of
crime, violence and gangs thus enabling them to become well-rounded citizens.
