BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, August 4th 2011 (CUOPM) – Work is nearing completion on the new Dieppe Bay Police Station.
Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas visited the facility during a routine tour of his constituency which included the site for the new Day Care Center and Primary School in St. Paul’s and a housing development in Parsons following complaints by residents.
The new two-storey facility replaces an older one closed down in 1998.
It multi-purpose 10,000 square feet concrete/masonry structure will house Police, Fire & Rescue and Customs.
The ground floor will feature general police office space for the Superintendent of Police, Criminal Investigation Department, Interview Room, Communication Office, Waiting Room and Front Desk; Customs/Coast Guard , Recreation Room and Garage.
The top floor will house separate male and female barracks and rest room facilities, laundry and kitchen and armory.
No date has been set for the official opening.
