Infamus hits hard with ‘Cry From The Ghetto’

By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POPULAR Cayon singer, Infamus is showing a whole new side to him in his latest single ‘Cry From The Ghetto’, where he plays the voice of the people and lets it all out in the hard hitting single.

According to Kervin ‘Infamus’ Benjamin, “The inspiration for the song came from the streets and concern people in and around the different communities, I am just basically trying to say that while they as heads are fighting for a portfolio, people outside are fighting to stay alive.”

He said he is just acting on behalf of his people, not a political party, and fighting for the right way of doing things

‘Cry From The Ghetto’ was officially released on various radio stations sometime last week  and   was recorded at Yard Tune Production Studio. The ‘riddim’ was produced by De Magician also of Cayon, and a music video for the track will be officially released later today.

He noted that since its release the response from the song has been surprising.  Infamus said he was actually very sceptical about putting out a song like this because of his image, but he got over that knowing people would understand where he is coming from and know that he means no harm.

“I just want those who know better to at least try and do so because we are hurting as a nation” he added.

Apart from this new single the singer said he is also shooting a music video for a song he released some week ago titled ‘Pocket Full Of Sunshine’.

He also has an LP with nine tracks that will be released at his Summer Splash later this month at De Green Valley Pub.
