BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, August 4th 2011 (CUOPM) – The cultural links between the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis and the Republic of China (TAIWAN) are much stronger following  two weeks of what has been described as a “fruitful exchange programme.”

The Taiwan Youth Ambassador Corps from Southern Taiwan University ended their two week stay with courtesy departure visit to Prime Minister Hon.  Dr. Denzil Douglas.

Accompanied by Resident Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) His Excellency Miguel Tsao, members of the Youth Ambassador Corps shared with the Prime Minister what they have done and learned during their time in the Federation.

Donned in local attire, and much to the delight of the Prime Minister, the visiting Corps sang the national anthem of the Federation, which they learned at the Residential Camp.

Prime Minister Douglas applauded their visit as mission accomplished, and encouraged the members to introduce St. Kitts and Nevis culture to their countrymen.

Ambassador Tsao urged the members to continue the good work of serving as a cultural bridge between the two peoples and wished the group a safe trip back to Taiwan.
