~~Adz:Right~~ “Learn how to apply the Law, come to the court often and see how the law is applied,” she said. “And pay no attention to the saying about Lawyers make a ton of money.”

“I will encourage you to sit down in the room with a Lawyer and see how he/she deal’s with their client because one of the most difficult things to do is tell a client they have no case. Sometimes they may feel like they are the ones who are paying you and that you should do what they say.”

Liburd also told them to not get caught up in the peculiarities of the Court and to remain humble.

“Being humble will teach you to accept that you’re not going to win every case,” she said. “And I’m also pleased to see that two more females are being called to the bar.”

His Lordship Francis Belle then said that he has no hesitation in granting the orders of the applicants who seem to be outstanding citizens in their respective communities.

He also said that they have a wide background that will help them to practice Law better and that they are being called to the Bar at a good time when the Court has recently celebrated its 40th Anniversary.

To Browne, His Lordship said that she was very lucky to see Cheltenham whose award she received during her studies, practice as a prosecution in a very high profile case last week which brought in the conviction of Romeo Cannonier who was accused of Murder.

In her speech Browne said that she was ecstatic when she learned that Cheltenham would be visiting.

“I wanted to be his driver, bring him coffee, sit next to him, almost anything to be in the presence of such a great man as Mr. Cheltenham,” she said. “And during the past week, I have learned so much as I have taken in every word.”

Browne said she was filled with emotions and overjoyed, relieved and thankful and said that she is entering one of the noblest of professions and thank God and her family, for helping her along her way.

Andries with interest in the Family and said that she wants to assist the Police in any way she can, said that she can now teach, advise and represent the Police.
