(Basseterre; St. Kitts): The Kittitian Expo held over the weekend of November 2nd - 3rd at the St. Kitts Marriott Hotel’s Royal Ballroom came off with a bang!

That was the general consensus of the Organizer and most of the booth owners who participated in the Expo.

At the Opening ceremony, key note speaker, Hon. Timothy Harris – Min. of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, Industry Commerce & Consumer Affairs outlined the objectives of the Expo.

He said the Expo should boost trading activity; increase public awareness of products & services made/available in the Federation. Along with enhancing networking among entities & allow opportunities to forge new relationships, and create stronger ties with the customer/consumer; and highlight the contributions of the private sector to national growth, employment and development.

In his closing sentiments Harris said that we have come very far as a country and that our private sector has grown in stature, viability and in acceptance of its corporate social responsibility. ~~Adz:Right~~

“This Expo assures me that the private sector has a clear understanding of the hopes and aspirations of the country and wants to play a more prominent role… may Expo 2007 be rewarding and beneficial to all,” he said.

In an interview conducted with Valentine Henry – CEO of Vh Communications, Organizer & Conceptualist of Kittitian Expo 2007, Henry revealed that he was very pleased with the amount of companies he’d been able to attract.

A total of 38 companies participated in the Expo, utilizing all 50 booths showcasing their products.

He said that once the participating companies could walk from the expo with a larger pool of potential customers, the main objective of the expo would’ve been achieved and that all should be happy and satisfied with this.

By and large the booths were representative of the major players in the private sector Federation wide.  There were also a few newer entities in the Kittitian Market Place as well.

There were product/service offerings in nearly every sector:- educational, communications, security, agriculture/horticulture, clothing, website design/hosting, insurance, body care/spa treatments, craft items, architectural,  health/fitness, household items, etc.
