    St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Denzil L. Douglas (c) speak to students and teachers of the Estridge Primary School in Mansion. Cabinet Ministers flank PM Douglas.

     

    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS (SEPTEMBER 14TH 2004)Students in St. Kitts were urged to seize the educational opportunities provided by the ruling St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party Administration to ensure the social, economic and political development of the twin-island Federation.
     
    Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Denzil L. Douglas and the Parliamentary Representatives of the areas where schools were located spoke to the respective student body and teachers.
     
    Students and teachers were congratulated for the achievements over the past year. Prime Minister Douglas’ theme to the future leaders was “Education for Leadership.” Some schools
     
    Prime Minister Douglas presented to the Head Teachers of each school, pencils, pens and rulers commemorating the 21st Anniversary of the Independence of St. Kitts and Nevis.
     
    Deputy Prime Minister the Hon. Sam Condor, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Education, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris and Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Cooperatives, Lands and Housing, the Hon. Cedric Liburd spoke at the Cayon Primary School; Deputy Prime Minister Condor and Minister Liburd at the Cayon High School.

    Prime Minister Douglas and Minister Harris spoke at the Violet Petty Primary School in Lodge; the Estridge Primary School in Mansion and the Edgar T. Morris Primary in Tabernacle, while the St. Kitts and Nevis leader spoke at the primary schools in Saddlers, St. Paul’s and Newton Ground.
     
    Inclement weather forced the postponement of the Cabinet Ministers to several other schools as classes at all schools were suspended by 2:00 P.M.
