    “A tief dey tief!”

    Basseterre, St. Kitts:
On the heels of some positive reviews from the general public, the “Bobo Shanty” group is now under scrutiny following allegations of theft from some rural residents.

It is alleged that the young men, who call themselves “Bob Dreads”, are stealing from rural farmers to sell to consumers throughout the island.

“Is tief dey tief’” stated one irate local farmer.

“They are up and down the place selling produce, telling people that they are doing a little ‘juggling’ when in truth and in fact they are stealing people’s crops that they work so hard to grow,” he added.

According to well placed sources, one farmer, on returning from a weekend trip from Nevis, confronted several of the “Bobo dreads” as they were leaving his farm with a number of his crops.

He asked the men who gave them permission to take the produce from his farm and their reply was “the earth and everything in it is Jah’s and they are Jah’s children so they have a right to the produce.”

The reports state that the farmer was totally annoyed but he managed to keep a level head rather than risk being attacked by the young men.

The farmer then made a complaint to the “High Priest” of the “Bobo Dreads” and he got a similar response.

~~Adz:Right~~There have been several other allegations against the “Bobo Dreads”.

The “Bobo Dreads” are commonly seen throughout the island selling bags of cane.

Whilst many have spoken positively about their ingenious way of making a living, many have also voiced their distrust of them.

The allegations against the “Bobo Dreads” have not gone unchecked. Recently, a search was executed on their “camp” amidst the accusation of theft.

Representatives from the “Bobo Shanty” camp strongly denied the allegations and there were claims that the allegations could be stemming from the activities of other Rastas who were not of the “Bobo Shanty” camp.

“People are always making allegations against us. We started selling the canes, they said we stole them. We sell nuts, they claim that we stole them too. Everything that we sell, people accuse us of stealing. We do not steal, we are righteous people,” the ‘Bobo Dread’ stated.

A further investigation into the allegations is pending.
