Miss St. Kitts hopefuls…who’s your pick?

By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts- AS there are only a few more months left before the staging of another National Queen Pageant, SKNVibes talked to a number of individuals to find out whom they consider to be future contestants for the pageant and why.

The reigning queen Iantavian Queeley has managed to rack up quite a number of achievements during her reign, leaving some very big shoes for the next queen to fill.

The first person suggested was Keeva Weeks, an employee of National Bank. According to Wallis Wilkin he considers her to be very beautiful and she also has the intelligence to go along.

Diego Spanner of Vivid Designs gave his pick as Trevicia Adams; she was a contestant in the 2010 Miss Culturama Pageant where she placed Second Runner-up. Spanner said he likes her humbleness, adding that she has experience in modeling, fashion and pageantry.

Wayne, a Finance Manager also recommended Trevicia Adams. He said in his opinion she is a very talented young lady who is well disciplined and strives for excellence. “Once she manages to win this crown she would be a true ambassador to represent the Federation,” he noted.

Adams seemed to be a popular choice for me because she was also suggested by Jason Amory a popular choreographer and modeling agency owner.

Amory also thought that Keeva Weeks could be a possible queen as he finds her presence to be very appealing. He also stated that she not only carries herself well but looks very classy.

A young lady who prefers to be known only as Omi said she thinks Shaniqua Laws would make the perfect contestant, because not only is she intelligent and has a great personality but she also speaks well, has a wealth of stage experience and is a ‘people’ person.

According to Kymberlee Ward of Island Beauty, some of those who she considers might be ready for Miss St. Kitts but not for regional pageants, therefore they may need to prepare for about a year.

She, however, thinks that Tishima Brown and Zionshaw Joseph both of S Model Management Agency would be ready for next year, as well as Alisha Francis of Old Road.

She said these three females are equipped with both beauty and brains, and with proper training she could see them doing well at in the National Queen Pageant and at the Regional level.

Master Hair Technician/Beauty Consultant, Lavern Davis recommended Makeila Armstrong, an employee at Royal Bank.

Davis said besides the fact that Armstrong has brains and beauty which are usually the key elements to winning a pageant, she also possesses good values, comes from a good family upbringing and has a magnetic voice.

She said although Armstrong may be a bit short and not the average weight of a model, she thinks with the proper diet and exercise she could be a perfect Miss St. Kitts hopeful.

Davis also stressed the fact that times have changed and people are now looking beyond weight and height for pageants.

Now that you have heard of the picks of these persons, send us your comments with your Miss St. Kitts hopefuls and do not forget to include the reason for suggesting them.
