Permits required for Road Travel during Curfew Hours

    Advisory # 2 - State of Emergency in Trinidad and Tobago
    ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, August 24, 2011
    – LIAT wishes to advise its travelling public of the following measures which the relevant authorities have put in place for persons travelling to and from Trinidad and Tobago:

     

    Passengers arriving in Trinidad: Passengers arriving into Trinidad at the Piarco International Airport during the hours of the curfew (9:00pm to 5:00am) must go to the temporary Police Post which is located near to the Information Booth at the airport to apply for a Curfew Permit.

     

    To have this permit issued passengers must retain their boarding pass and or ticket and present two (2) forms of photo identification.

     

    The Airport Authority of Trinidad and Tobago has advised that airport taxis will also be issued with passes to transport arriving passengers who require the use of public transportation during curfew hours.

     

    Persons wishing to collect arriving passengers at the airport during curfew hours are advised to obtain curfew permits from their local police station.

     

    These applications must be made outside of the curfew hours. Persons desirous of applying for the permits must present proof of impending journey and two (2) forms of photo identification.

     

    Passengers departing from Trinidad: Passengers with flights departing from the Piarco International Airport during the hours of the curfew (9:00pm to 5:00am) or required to check-in during this time must apply for a curfew permit at their local Police Station in their district.

     

    Persons wishing to obtain curfew permits must present their passports and travel documents confirming air travel.

     

    In the event that a curfew permit is not issued it is advised that persons arrive at the airport outside of the curfew hours of 9:00pm to 5:00am.

     

    Customers can also visit the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago website at http://www.tntairports.com/ for further information.

     

    LIAT further advises that it will continue to operate on its regular schedule during the State of Emergency. Any inconvenience caused to customers by this situation is regretted.
