~~Adz:Left~~The following convictions and sentences were handed down at the Charlestown Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 21st November 2007.
Edison Jones of Hermitage, Nevis, was convicted for the offence of Possession of Cannabis and fined twenty-thousand dollars ($20,000.00) to be paid in six months or serve 18 months in prison in default. The offence was committed on 22nd October 2007 at Hermitage.
Kyle Sutton Hanley of Butlers Village was convicted for the offence of Larceny and fined two-thousand five hundred dollars ($2500.00) to be paid in three months or in default, serve three months at Her Majesty’s Prison. The offence was committed on 4th November 2007 at Nelson’s Spring.
Terrance Flemming of Cotton Ground was convicted and fined two-thousand dollars ($2000.00) for the offence of Battery. The fine must be paid in six months or he will serve six months in prison in default. The offence was committed on 30th October 2007 at Cotton Ground.
Naziar of Bath Village was convicted and fined eight-hundred dollars ($800.00) for the offence of Driving without Insurance. The fine is to be paid in six months or serve three months in prison in default. He was also convicted for the offence of Driving without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s License and fined eight-hundred dollars ($800.00) in one month or serve three months in prison if he fails to pay. The offences occurred on 3rd November 2007 at Low Street.
Francisco Jumenez of Bath Village was convicted and fined eight-hundred dollars ($800.00) for the offence of Driving without Due Care and Attention. The fine must be paid in three months or serve one month in prison if he fails to pay. The offence was committed on 22nd September at Prospect.
