Young man dead; succumbs to gun shot wounds

Basseterre, St. Kitts: A twenty one year old young man, Javez “Choppa” Caines, of Garden’s Housing, succumbed to several gunshot wounds about his body and passed away at the Joseph N France General Hospital, in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 25th.
Caines was shot several times by masked assailants, while playing dominos in the McKnight area, close to the “Steps”, just after 10 on Saturday night, November 24th. Unconfirmed reports say he was shot in the head, neck and back.
Sources say that a suspicious vehicle patrolled the area several times prior to the shooting.
Police are trying to determine a motive for the killing but speculations are rife as to why the young man was killed.
Contrary to what was speculated, Caines was not on the witness list for an upcoming murder trial.
SKNVibes wishes to apologize for any incovenience that the unconfirmed statement may have caused.
Caines’ murder brings the number of murders to 14 for St. Kitts and Nevis, for 2007.
