    Digicel continues its commitment to Teen Pageant 

     

     

     

    ~~Adz:Left~~Tuesday, November 27, 2007 – BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS: Digicel, the fastest growing mobile telecommunications provider in the Caribbean, today announced its’ continuation of a two year sponsorship agreement with The Digicel Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant’.
     
    The pageant will be celebrating its 28th anniversary this year and will feature thirteen (13) countries participating from: Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Bermuda, Tortola, Cuba, Curacao, Grenada, Guyana, St Lucia St Vincent & the Grenadines, St Vincent Trinidad & Tobago United States Virgin Islands and host country St Kitts-Nevis.  
     
    “The principal objective of this pageant is to showcase Caribbean Culture and promote regional integration among Caribbean youth, while communicating meaningful social and educational issues through the performing arts.” commented Antonio Maynard – Chairman of the Pageant
     
    Richard Stanton – Country Manager, Digicel St. Kitts & Nevis says, “Digicel is delighted to be associated once again with this prestigious pageant. The 2007/8 pageant is in its’ 28th year and is truly a testament to the commitment of the organization.  We are also grateful to be a part of such a prestigious event that has showcased talent from some many different regions for so many years.”
     
    ‘Digicel applauds this initiative as a means of cultivating creative expression among the youth as it reinforces the vast talent that is emerging throughout the Caribbean.’ Stanton continued.
     
    Digicel also announced that as part of the event, it has confirmed a special appearance of the 2007 Digicel Rising Star Finalist – Daina Barnes of Antigua as the featured performer for the pageant.
