BASSETERRE St. Kitts – CECIL GREENE has been named the winner of FastCash’s Back to School Draw, winning an EC$500 cheque.
The draw was held yesterday (Sept. 2) at the office’s location at the Palms Arcade, The Circus.
FastCash’s first two clients, Wendell Huggins and Sheldon Isaac, drew the ticket out of a box of many and Greene’s name was on it.
A staff member then placed a call to Greene who works at the Caribbean Lottery and he wasted no time in getting to FastCash to collect his cheque.
When asked how he feels to be the lucky winner of EC$500, Greene simply said, “Overjoyed”.
He said that the money would be used to purchase items for his children, and that they would be happy to know that he won the prize.
Supervisor of FastCash, Sabine Wilson explained that the draw is very useful as most of the loans that were given since the opening of their operation were either for travel or back to school expenses.
Clients and potential clients can look out for another draw this coming December, as this draw was the first of many. Each draw highlights a special event at the time of the year. December’s draw will focus on Carnival.
Wilson explained that a quarterly draw is done in all the islands where FastCash operates, and each Branch would have a total of four draws per year.
FastCash first opened its doors to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis on July 18. Since then, the entity received 122 applications which were all approval, and a disbursement of 73 totalling EC$216 347 in payouts were made.
