BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, September 7th 2011 – A new format for the Annual National Consultation on the Economy in preparation for the 2012 Budget.
The Ministry of Finance says the two-part session will be held tomorrow Thursday 8th September at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort under the theme “The Architecture of an Efficient and Sustainable Public Sector in Support of our Economic Growth Agenda.”
The morning session will be with economic partners from 9 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and the afternoon session for social partners from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Both opening sessions will be addressed by Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Joseph Parry and Financial Secretary, Mrs. Janet Harris.
In the Social Partners Session, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Social and Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs, Ms. Sharon Rattan will make a presentation, while President of the Chamber of Industry and Commence, Mr. Michael Morton will give a presentation during the session with the economic partners.
Discussion will follow with the representatives from a wide-cross section of the community including
