BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AFTER a break last year, the Miss Big and Beautiful Pageant is now back and five voluptuous ladies are gearing up to vie for the third title. The show is set for 8:00 p.m. on November 12, 2011 at Carnival Village.
The big beauties are: Joycelyn Stapleton, Sherema Warner, Simone Hanley, Shermel Cox and Nickesha Hazel.
After breaking the ice and setting the pace in the Fanfare segment, each contestant would then take the stage to showcase the five different aspects of the show:- Introductory Speech in Professional wear; Swimwear; Talent; Evening Wear and Interview.
According to Cheddi Bradshaw, CEO of Island Soul Entertainment and promoters of the pageant, they were unable to have the pageant last year for a number of reasons.
“The budget for a pageant can run really high and it is very difficult these days to acquire good sponsorship,” he said.
However, he further noted that a lot of people have been asking why there was no pageant and expressed how much they were really entertained by it and how much they missed it, so they (the promoters) decided to have it this year. They are hoping they will gain the necessary support.
A promotional video of the contestants was released on Facebook and Youtube inviting patrons out for the big night and so far, judging from the comments, the anticipation for the show is very high. The contestants all sound excited and eager to wow the crowd with their voluminous curves.
The reigning queen is Dalila Tota who took the awards for Best Professional Wear / Introductory Speech, Best Swimwear and Best Evening wear two years ago..
