Audwin Pinney of Paradise Road, Conaree was arrested for the offence of "Battery"
~~Adz:Left~~On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December 2007, members of the Drug Unit conducted operations in a number of areas around Basseterre, including Conaree Village, Frigate Bay, and Stapleton Village. A total of 33 persons were stopped and searched for arms and ammunitions as well as controlled drugs. One IBM laptop computer and one Motorola cell phone was taken into police custody as well as a quantity of Cannabis found hidden in some bushes at Carty Alley. As a result of the operations, four persons were arrested on suspicion of Shooting with Intent.
ARRESTS
On Friday 7th December 2007, police arrested and charged Trevor Hector of Basseterre for the offence of Building Breaking and Larceny committed between 4th and 5th December 2007. Hector was stopped and searched at Greenlands where he was found with a computer which was later identified as the property of the CFB College.
Dario Galloway of Fiennes Avenue was arrested and charged on Sunday 9th December 2007 for the offence of Possession of Cannabis.
Audwin Pinney of Paradise Road, Conaree was arrested for the offence of Battery committed on Sunday 9th December 2007.
These persons will appear in court shortly.
CONVICTIONS
Chad Elliott of John England Village appeared at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on December 7th 2007 where he was convicted for possession of firearm and was sentenced to prison for nine (9) months.
Kelvin Pemberton of Stapleton Village was convicted for wounding committed on 10th September 2007. He was order to pay $4,000.00 compensation to the complainant by 29th Feb 2008 or serve 1 month in prison.
