St. Kitts Entertainment Round-up (September 16, 2011)

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WITH tomorrow (Sep. 16) being a National Holiday as well as Monday (Sep. 19), this means a long weekend with lots of partying and drinking. However, this is even more reason to be extremely careful and to party responsibly. Below are a number of events to choose from to kick off this weekend.

     

    Thursday September 15, 2011

     

    Comfort Zone on Fort Street – ‘Carry your own key’ at Karaoke tonight at the upstairs venue from 8:00 p.m. then enjoy the rest of the night to some pulsating music. 

     

    De Pumpkin in Newton Ground – This event for all the ‘Independent Ladies’ is being hosted by Real Men Promotions. Musical entertainment will be juggled up by DJ Yardy, Sweet Sister Sensia, Mixklusive and Freedom Sounds as well as the Small Axe Band and Nu Vybes International to rock the outside dance floor.

     

    Ziggy’s Bar on the Frigate Bay Strip - DJ Gallis will mix up a blend of music from 9:00 p.m. until the wee hours of the morning. The atmosphere is usually a blend of young and older folks, ranging from locals to students.

     

    Friday September 16, 2011

     

    Through the streets of Newtown – Jam through the streets of Newtown for their Jouvert   morning celebration as they bring the East Basseterre Community Festival back to life. The jam session begins at 6:00 a.m.   

     

    Verchild’s Play field – This community would be the place to be for the Home Grown Festival which would feature a number of performances by Nicha B, Infamus and Footsy amongst others as well as the Nu Vibes Band and a number of DJs that will provide non-stop music in two dance tents.

     

    Comfort Zone on Fort Street – This venue will come alive with DJ Ranking and then will be taken over by TNO Sounds with happy hour from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. then again from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

     

    G-Spot in Sandy Point – Another ‘Feel Good Friday’ is back with DJs Six A Clack and DJ Shaggy who will be rocking the venue from as early as 6:00 p.m.

     

    Ziggy’s Bar on the Frigate Bay Strip - A mixture of music by DJ Gallis from 9:00 p.m. The atmosphere is usually a blend of young and older folks, ranging from locals to students.

     

    Bamboo Lounge – From 10:00 p.m. until Bamboo Lounge and Bombay Blues will present an event called the Green Monster Party. Only 25EC to enter and drink beers free all night or pay 10EC to enter with one complimentary drink. Enjoy two bounce houses and music by Cj the DJ upstairs and DJ Cass downstairs as well as lots of give-a-ways.

     

    Saturday September 17, 2011

     

    Verchild’s Play field – This community would be the place to be for the Home Grown Festival which would feature a number of performances by Masud, Crucial Bankie, Iyatola, Queen Anastasia amongst other veterans as well as the Grand Masters Band and the Green House Band and a number of DJs that will provide non-stop music in two dance tents.

     

    Sprat Net  in Old Road -- Ras Kelly 2nd Birthday Bash featuring the sweetest band in the world " Small Axe Band", the band from under de sea "GrandMasters,Odisi band from out of Nevis and much more.

     

    Ziggy’s Bar on the Frigate Bay Strip – Party all night with musical ‘juggling’ by Tombstone International.  

     

    On board the La Pinta  – I-land Lyme Entertainment will have their first event dubbed Tattoos and Summer Bodies - with food and drink all inclusive as well as music by Freedom Sounds, Energetic Sounds with DJ Yardy. The boat will leave Port Zante at 6:00 p.m. sharp.

     

    Club NV in Canada Estate – Phenomenal Woman will present an all white Independence Bash featuring Nu Vibes Band, Evolution, Sister Sensia, DJ Yardy and guest appearances by Sugar Bowl, EK, Silk and Footsy and Nicha B.   

     

    Sandy Point Market in Main Road Sandy Point – The Sandy Point Agriculture Cooperative Society LTD would host an expo which would then see performances by Navigator, I.T.Y.C, Alamoulu and folklore amongst others.   

     

    Sunday September 18, 2011

     

    Green Valley Pub in Cayon – The cool country breeze will be interrupted by the sounds of Nu Vibes Band, Sweet Sister Sensia and Chalice Sounds.

     

    Ziggy’s Bar on the Frigate Bay Strip - A variety of music by Freedom Sounds from 8:00 p.m. with a more mature crowd setting.

     

    De Pumpkin in Newton Ground – This venue will be the ‘happening’ spot as Elites Promotions  Presents Counteraction 2k11 featuring a big band clash between the sweetest band in the land Small Axe VS the country band Grand Masters along with Evolution Sounds Dj Yardy and Dj Sugar Bowl.

     

     Monday September 19, 2011

     

    Through the streets of Newtown – Their festival celebrations will continue with a street parade through the streets of the community.

     

    Ziggy’s Bar on the Frigate Bay Strip - A variety of music once again by DJ Gallis from 8:00 p.m. with a more mature crowd setting.
