    Charlestown Nevis
(October 15, 2004) - Nevis Premier, the Hon Mr Vance Amory, on Friday called on Nevisians to take the Federal Elections seriously and turn out in large numbers, as six Nevisian candidates for the Federal Elections, due to be held on Monday October 25, were nominated with little fanfare.

Premier Amory, political leader of the Concerned Citizens Movement and the sitting Federal Parliamentarian for Nevis 10 (St. George’s), was the first to be nominated. He presented his nomination papers to Mr Alfred Thompson, Returning Officer of Nevis 10, at 10:15 a.m. at the Gingerland Police Station.

He was nominated by Mr Orris Elliott and the Hon Mr Livingston Herbert (Junior Minister for Agriculture, Education and Library Services) and witnessed by Ms Sheila Brookes. He also paid the required EC$150.00 deposit.

Following the nomination, he told the Government Information Service that his Party had put forward a formidable team that has in the past represented the interests of Nevisians, not only at the local level, but at the Federal and regional levels, and expected that Nevisians would vote in all the three candidates on the CCM slate.
