Cable & Wireless Strips Beauty Queen of Prize

(Virgin Gorda; BVI): Telecommunications giant, Cable & Wireless, recently stripped the reigning Miss British Virgin Islands Carnival Queen, Leilani Stevens, of her bMobile prize.
According to reliable sources, the stripping of the prize came about as a result of a promotional photo Stevens did for CCT Global Communications before she won the Miss BVI title.
CCT Wireless placed the promotional photo in their company’s window last November, and refused to remove it upon bMobile’s request, as the issue came about two weeks after the photo went up.
CCT calls the behaviour of their competitors as petty.
However, bMobile argues that Stevens had breached her contract, which includes a confidentiality agreement.
The matter is before the Ministry of Education and Culture, which will release a statement to the media shortly.
