Two vehicles stolen from Strip over Independence weekend

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Two privately-owned vehicles were heisted from The Strip over a three-day period this weekend and the authorities are requesting the public’s assistance in locating and recovering them.

     

    Information which was being broadcast over Blackberry Messenger (BBM) was that “a car was stolen from the Frigate Bay Strip early this morning (Sept. 19). It is a white Toyota Corolla with a spoiler and sun roof.”

     

    The message further explained that the vehicle bore the registration number PA6402.

     

    This information was confirmed by a police source who informed that the heist took place sometime before 4:00a.m. He explained that the owner of the vehicle was at The Strip when he misplaced his keys.

     

    He left the area and reportedly went to retrieve a spare copy of the vehicle’s key and when he returned at about 4:00 a.m., he discovered his vehicle missing.

     

    Prior to its removal, the vehicle was reportedly parked next to Ziggy’s.

     

    A second vehicle was stolen on Saturday, September 17, from the same general area.

     

    The missing vehicle, registered as P2375, is a green Mitsubishi Lancer and according to reports, the owner parked it on The Strip next to Mr. X at about 1:00 a.m. He however returned about 12 hours later to find his vehicle missing.

     

    The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force as well as the owners of the vehicles are beseeching the public in assisting with the search for the vehicles.

     

    Persons sighting the vehicles and if in possession of information relative to their whereabouts, are asked to contact the nearest police station or the Frigate Bay Outpost at 465-6899.

     

    Investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
