    – Better structured patrols through improved analysis of intelligence, more specific targeting of illegal firearms and an active education of the business community and the wider public on matters of security were among the strategies of the security forces which were reviewed by the St. Kitts and Nevis Cabinet on Monday.

Minister of State for Information, Sen. the Hon. Nigel Carty said these were some of the components highlighted and discussed during the Cabinet Meeting.

In his post Cabinet briefing, the Cabinet also discussed the greater tactical coordination of special units within the security forces, improved response and follow-up to reports from the public, ongoing in-service training of police officers, stop and search activities on pedestrians and drivers, the crackdown on minor offences such as traffic offences and the targeting of abandoned properties. ~~Adz:Right~~

Cabinet also discussed the activities and performance of the security forces during the just ended Christmas and Carnival season and expressed satisfaction with the progress made to date in dealing with the incidence of certain criminal activities in the twin-island Federation.
