                                          Nevis Junior Minister takes new Oath of Office
     
    Junior Minister of Trade and Industry with special responsibilities for Consumer Affairs, Trade, Industry, Import and Export Control, the Hon. Dwight Cozier takes the Oath of Office presided over by Justice Ianthea Leigertwood-Octave.
    CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (JANUARY 10, 2007)
    -- The Hon. Dwight Cozier is now the new Junior Minister in the Ministry of Trade and Industry in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA). Earlier today, (Thursday January 10) a brief yet pronounced ceremony to swear in the Hon. Minister in his new capacity, took place at the Cabinet Chambers at Bath Plain. 
     
    Her Ladyship, Justice Ianthea Leigetwood-Octave administered the Oath of Office to seal the new appointment.  Minister Cozier who was sworn in over one year ago in the Premier’s Ministry, now holds special responsibility for Consumer Affairs, Trade, industry, Import and Export Control.
     
    “I want to thank all my colleagues for congratulating me and for being able to continue to give me the support as I am taking this transfer from the Premier’s Ministry to the Deputy Premier’s Ministry. 

    I believe as the Premier has already asserted that this transfer will mean a renewed and

    continued thrust in social transformation for young people and all the people of Nevis,” Mr. Cozier said.
     
    Premier of Nevis the Hon. Joseph Parry who had indicated in his New Year’s address a the imminent transfer of Minister Cozier was first to congratulate the Minister on his new appointment.
     
    “I take this first opportunity to congratulate Minister Cozier in his new capacity as Junior Minister in Trade and Industry and I wish to assure the public of Nevis that this new position is done to keep the good work of the government going.  We had a great year last year and we plan to have a greater year this year.
     
    Minister of Trade and Industry and Social Transformation Hon Hensley Daniel welcomes Junior Minister Cozier and congratulates him on new appointment.
    “Mr. Cozier working with Mr. Daniel will certainly continue driving not only social transformation in this country but we intend to have business transformation as well. Mr. Cozier, Congratulations!” the Premier said.
     
    While he welcomed and congratulated Minister Cozier on his new portfolio, Minister of Trade, Industry and Social Transformation, the Hon. Hensley Daniel said “having worked together in Cabinet and other Ministries he looked forward to continued synergies between them and noted that Mr. Cozier’s transfer came at a time when the Ministry

    had been engaged in training in business management and developing businesses for young people and old persons.
     
    The ceremony was chaired by Cabinet Secretary Mr. Ashley Farrell who also took the opportunity to congratulate Mr. Cozier along with other Cabinet colleagues, Hon. Robelto Hector, Hon. Carlisle Powell, and Legal Advisor Patrice Nisbett who were on hand to witness the event.
