20-year-old shot en route to his home

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE sound of gunshot broke the pre-dawn silence of Sunday, September 25, signalling the Lodge Village shooting of a 20-year-old man.

     

    The casualty of the incident has been identified by the authorities as Davian Jarvis of Lodge Village.

     

    According to a police source, the incident occurred just after 1:00 a.m., when Jarvis was walking en route to his home. A gun-toting man (men), according to reports, opened fire upon the young man and he fled in an effort to evade injury.

     

    He was, however, reportedly shot in both legs and also in his right arm. He was transported to the Joseph. N. France General Hospital where is warded and is receiving treatment for his injuries.

     

    SKNVibes understands that two individuals of interest are being sought by the authorities in connection to this incident and, persons who may have information relative to this case are asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 465-2241 EXT 230 or the nearest police station.

     

    Information can be given anonymously and will be held in confidence.

     

    Jarvis’ shooting comes just about 48 hours after the shooting death of the Nevisian young man.

     

    Adjel Jeffers of Camps Village, Nevis, was shot by unknown assailant(s) while in the vicinity of his yard. That incident occurred sometime after 1:00 a.m. (Sept. 23). His is the 28th to have occurred within the Federation in 2011.

     

    Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
