ROSEAU Dominica, September 26th, 2011 --The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China would like to inform interested persons of an essay prize contest.

The theme of the contest is 'China in My Eyes'. Applicants must write an essay describing their multiple dimension experience in China which is: what you saw, heard, learnt and felt of China's traditional culture, philosophy, scenery, social customs and modern elements and the inspiration and benefit you got from the trip to China.

The essay can be written either in Chinese or English Language. If written in Chinese the word limit should be 300-800 words and if in English 800-2000 words. There is no restriction on form or type of literature.

All citizens of Dominica who have visited China are welcomed to take part in the contest. The contest is opened from September 1, 2011 to February 1, 2012. Only electronic versions of the contest will be accepted.

Essays should be entitled "Contesting Essay: China in My Eyes" with the name, gender, date of birth, passport number and contact information (including address) and also specify date of visits to China and length of visit.

Essays written in English should be sent to the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development email address: essaydominica@gmail.com.

Essays written in Chinese should be sent to the Embassy's email box: essaydominica@yahoo.com.

The results of the contest will be published at the end of March, 2012. Three places will be awarded for each category.

?1st - $1,200.00
?2nd - $750.00
?3rd - $500.00

•English essay
?1st - $1,000.00
?2nd - $600.00
?3rd - $400.00

Names of the winners will be published on the Embassy's website and local newspapers in April 2012.
