    ROADTOWN TortolaBVI, September 26th, 2011 - Family Life and Finance Management professionals, by invitation of the Department of Human Resources, will be addressing public officers about important work/life balance and financial issues at an upcoming lunch-time talk session to be held on Thursday 29th September, 2011.

    The upcoming “Lunch & Learn sessions, entitled “Work/Life/Finance Balance” will focus on equipping individuals with crucial information and resources that will help to reduce stress deriving from juggling multiple priorities as well as provide helpful money management tips that are essential for survival during these tough economic times.

     

    Ms. Clearlie Brown, Manager of the Department’s, Employee Relations Unit, and who has some responsibilities for employee’s wellness, notes the ease of fitting in this activity into busy schedules and the value to improving employee’s overall health and well-being.

     

    “Individuals can conveniently sit and have their lunch in the Central Administration Building Breezeway; listen to experienced professionals share on balancing work/life/finance subjects; ask questions and leave more informed,” she said.

     

    The Acting Director of Human Resources, Mrs. Michelle Donovan Stevens encouraged public officers to take part. “Information is one of the best tools an individual can have in their quest for good health and wellness. The Department is pleased to be sponsoring this event, because it will help public officers make better wellness and money management decisions,” she said.

     

    Mrs. Donovan-Stevens noted that the Department’s Employee Relations Unit offers regular wellness events, counselling & referral services through the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), discounted gym memberships and other enrichment and education programmes for public officers. Sessions will be held between12 noon to 1:00pm and 1:05pm– 2:00pm. Similar HR Lunch and Learn Talks will be organised in the near future.
