    Operation Rattle Snake recovers more guns and ammunition

    (Basseterre, St. Kitts):
      The St. Kitts/Nevis Defence Force has engaged in a new operation called “Operation Rattle Snake”.  This course of action was launched last week and is presently ongoing.  As a part of the operation, the Defence Force continues to do what it takes to decrease the number of drugs, guns, ammunition and other illegal products on the street. 
     
    In connection with this operation, the Defence Force carried out searches in the Canada Estate and the Keys Village Hills area and as a result, led to the find of a cache of weapons and ammunitions and other illegal items buried in some bushes. 
     
    Among the findings were a M4 carbine assault rifle with magazine, .22mm sniper rifle with telescopic lens and magazine, 12 gauge shot gun, eight 12 gauge shot gun rounds five 45 mm hallow point rounds ,twelve 45mm ball point rounds, thirty  22mm rounds, thirty-two 32mm rounds, thirty-nine 9mm rounds, eleven seven point six two 39mm rounds, ninety-four 9mm hallow point rounds, sixteen 38mm ball point rounds, twelve 357mm hallow point rounds, three 357mm ball point rounds, thirty 22mm rounds, sixty-eight 40mm hallo point rounds, two 9mm rounds magazine and one 45 rounds magazine. 
     
    They also found service manuals, replacement parts for weapons, cleaning kit, sniper rifle carrying case and ammunition box operation manuals.
     
     Information that was gathered from this massive discovery of weapons and ammunitions was shared with the police, which led to a joint operation between the St Kitts Nevis Defence Force and the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force. 
     
     The joint forces conducted searches in the same vicinity, however with search warrants to investigate certain key properties believed
    Kimbal Williams
    to be used as hideouts. This action led to the discovery of another weapon, a .45mm pistol with ammunition, mask, bullet proof vest, camouflage clothing and other items in a house which was occupied by a young man in his late 20’s by the name of Kimbal Williams. 
     
    Williams was arrested in connection with the illegal items that were found in his premises.
     
    All weapons, ammunitions, spare parts, service manual and other items were handed over to the police to assist in the investigation. 

    The SKNDF along with the police remains committed to the ongoing campaign by the security forces to rid the Federation of illegal drugs, firearms and ammunition. The public is urged to continue to support this effort as the support of all citizens is critical to its mission success.
