Police Force gets High Command and Rank

(Basseterre, St. Kitts): According to a press release the Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas has confirmed the High Command and rank of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force. Mr. Austin Williams is now the new appointed Commissioner of Police.
The new Deputy Commissioner of Police will be Mr. Stafford Liburd and a new post has been created for two Assistant Commissioners, filling that post are Mr. Joseph Liburd and Mr. Joseph Richardson.
According to Minister of National Security, Dwyer Astaphan the Assistant Commissioner post was created to improve the management structure at the top.

Williams will assume the post early next month when the current Commissioner of Police, Mr. Robert Jeffers demits office following pre-retirement leave. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Meredith Charles is also retiring.
According to Williams in a very brief phone interview with SKNVibes.com he is prepared to take up the roll of Commissioner and committed to ensuring that the citizens of this country are protected and there security maintained and enhance.
He has been in the police force since 1981 and worked in several departments, Beat and Patrol, SSU, Training School and the Special branch. He has also attended a number of courses and seminars including the Jamaica staff college, Brams Hill University and the FBI National Academy.
Williams is also President of the Police Welfare Association, the Police Cooperate Credit Union as well as the Police Force Club.
