BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ON Saturday September 24, it was three cheers to Sherise Stapleton as she was crowned the new Miss Teen Diva in the BVI from a field of three contestants at the East End Long Look Community Centre.
The trio, all students of the Elmore Stoutt High School competed in seven innovative segments under the theme ‘It’s My Time to Shine’.
Stapleton who was described as a crowd favourite also carted off the Miss Popularity, Miss Photogenic, Miss Congeniality, Best African Diva Wear, Best Creative School Wear and Best Formal Wear trophies.
The other two contestants were Diamond Lake and Brittani Stoutt who took the awards for Miss Poise, Miss Intellect, Best Creative/Futuristic Wear and Best Diva Party Wear.
The 2011 Miss Teen Diva will now be the new advocate for Dream Achieve Relate Empower (D.A.R.E) Club.
This was a new initiative created by the Miss Teen Diva Pageant Committee to serve as a support system for young females, ages eight to 19 in the community to achieve their goals and also to be positive role models for others.
The 15-year-old now takes over the duties of reigning queen Rashada Robinson, who last year took captured prizes for Best Diva Party Wear, Best Futuristic Wear, Best African Diva Wear, Best Formal Wear, Miss Congeniality and Miss Intellect.
